Supplemental Levy Approved
Just over 10,300 voters
participated in Tuesday's election, with 6199 voters in favor of the proposed
supplemental levy and 4107 voting against the supplemental. With a 60%
majority, the school district will have the authority to levy $14 million for
each of the next two years. The revenue will be used to fund school district
operations, including maintaining the current number of school days and
retaining staff. In addition, patrons can anticipate that the combined bond,
plant facility, and supplemental levy rates will decline next year from the
current 0.004382573 to 0.004077233. For a property with $100,000 in taxable
value, this is a $30.54 reduction in property taxes.
